Richard R. Gross

Rick is a litigation associate whose practice areas focus on Civil Litigation and Criminal Defense.

Rick received a Bachelor of Arts in History with a concentration in Secondary Education from The State University of New York, College at Geneseo.  He then completed his Master’s degree in Education from The State University of New York at Albany. After teaching social studies for a few years, Rick returned to school and was awarded his Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law in 2004.

After admission to the New York State Bar, Rick began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Rochester, New York. He went on to start his own practice as a sole practitioner until 2020. Rick still maintains his New York State Bar membership.

Rick has two sons, one of which remained in Southern Maryland after finishing his second tour of duty in the US Navy. His other son is still on active duty, also with the US Navy. 

Rick now has three grandchildren which prompted him to relocate to Southern Maryland. He began his Maryland legal career with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender where he was a senior trial attorney. 

During his free time, Rick can be found with his grandchildren and his German Shepard, Piper. He is proud to call St. Mary’s County home and honored to be part of Dugan, McKissick and Longmore, LLC serving the needs of such a wonderful community.
