The Story of a Southern Maryland Firm.

A lot has changed since Bryan Dugan and Bill McKissick, Jr. opened their Lexington Park law practice on April Fool’s Day, 1994.

Bill jokes that if the firm ever failed, they could say it was all just an April Fool’s joke.

Bryan, a family law and litigation attorney, and Bill, a real estate and business law attorney, had both left a previous firm in hopes of building a practice in Southern Maryland.

The team’s expertise with transactional law and a period of rapidly increasing real estate activity positioned the firm to thrive in the region. With the addition of litigation attorney and fellow St. Mary’s county local Chris Longmore in 2000, the three partners pooled their legal expertise to form Dugan, McKissick, and Longmore, LLC. In 2021, Rebekka J. Hutchins and Samuel Wiest became partners to create a well-rounded law firm and the largest in Southern Maryland. Dugan, McKissick & Longmore, LLC is now the largest full-service law firm in St. Mary’s County.

In 2015, the partners created the in-house title company Blue Crab Title & Escrow, LLC, which conducts hundreds of residential and commercial closings each year.

Over the years, Bill, Chris, Rebekka, and Sam have given back to the community that supports their business. Dugan, McKissick & Longmore, LLC has partnered with several local non-profits to provide pro bono legal services and supports numerous community organizations. These organizations include St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce, Hospice of St. Mary’s County, Christmas in April, a variety of churches, volunteer rescue squads, and other non-profits.

I really don't have the words to describe how appreciative I am of the work done by this firm. And if I found those words, this review would take a month to write. I've had a 10 year nightmare put to rest with their help. I had an overwhelmingly positive experience from everyone I dealt with from this firm, including those who had no direct involvement with my case.I have dealt with other firms and lawyers whilst dealing with this very difficult and extremely stressful case. None can compare to Bryan Dugan. Bryan did not need to take my case but jumped right in when no one else could or would, and he did it with me going through unusual and difficult circumstances with a tight deadline. A huge weight was immediately taken off my shoulders. He fought on my side for almost a year to get my case into court where he was an absolute superstar through a three day trial where I got a result, that after ten years of getting kicked and beat by a system I was now terrified of, I finally got a result I knew was right and just, but never thought I would ever get.I truly could not have been represented better. I once again cannot truly express my gratitude to Bryan for helping me finally fight back. I finally had my voice heard and my point of view seen and was able to get the just outcome for my family I had been fighting for for more than a decade.I am disappointed I only have 5 stars to give.

Exceptional Attorney with Incredible Experience: Attorney Rebekka J. Hutchins, Esq was very honest and straightforward with establishing realistic expectations. She is a person first and a lawyer second. Her genuine compassion is remarkable and a very rare find. I hired Rebekka to provide legal representation for a complicated appeal process. I want to share my utmost appreciation and gratitude to David Weigel. My ex husband and I have been in a VERY lengthy court battle for YEARS. Recently, my fiance was granted a temporary peace order against my ex, for a haneous crime that he committed against us. We decided we needed to make this peace order stick, and couldn't risk losing it. Unfortunately, we were left with two days to find someone to represent him. David took my fiance on as a client the day before we were set to go to court. David spent a considerable amount of time speaking with us over the phone before we met in person the next day.
